Chevrons: Part 2

Last year, I hand painted his black and white zig-zag wall for a commercial film shoot. You can see how I did it back then. I was thrilled when I received this update from Trevor. He is a Director/Producer and I suspect he has a Designer streak as well after seeing how he put together the space. He found a gorgeous modern wood bed to effectively style the room. After looking around at many of the relevant design chains, he found this at BluePrint furniture. This reminded me that a while back, I once found functional modern chairs and desks for an Office Space. Seeing as how it’s only three blocks away, I should always check out this place!

The timing couldn’t have been more serendipitous because I just finished up-cycling a mini console table that I plan to show you this weekend.

Stay tuned!

Before and After: French Armchair

I love this French Country style chair that my client and I found at a local thrift store. We needed a simple piece for the entryway of her Mediterranean style home.  While the original black and white did pop to begin with, we wanted to alter it to make it a better fit with the home’s earth toned interior and I pictured it as a Scandinavian piece.

The blue gray paint by Dunn Edwards is called tarnished silver and the fabric is a gorgeous block printed linen from Deco Home, one of my favorite fabric sources in LA!

Sneak Peak: Dining Room

You may remember the rooms that I have been working on with Ivonne, the talented jewelry designer….well here’s the sneak peak!

The chandelier is definitely my favorite piece.

I promise more photos to come once we’ve selected all the accessories!

The living room sneak peak later this week!

Mirror, mirror on my wall…

This mirror was a gift. Can you believe that someone just GAVE it to me?

It’s cute, right?

Today, I have a one quick trick to update a mirror instantly by using a bit of white paint. I’m a big fan of altering accessories to bring style into a space. Although, it was a cute gilded piece before… it didn’t match our bedroom and lacked continuity.

A few coats later of Heirloom White by Rustoleum did the trick! The walls of our room are more of a creamy white too. I didn’t want to lose the depth and details of the handcarved wood, so I added in some silver leafing and a green patina using MetalEffects (my fave).

I have another Before and After that I’ve been working on for weeks, and I can’t wait to reveal it to you.

I feel a productive Tuesday comin’ on!

Nightstand: Before and After

I wanted to share with you a quick little redo that I have been saving in my studio until my show had wrapped up! Here it is before on the left. All white and totally retro…

and on the right, a whole new modern look! I just love the Corallo printed wallpaper by Cole and Son. The print kind of reminds me of trees. I used the gold and silver version, but here it is up close in red.

The Fornasetti Collection is something that has caught my interest for quite some time.
Happy Monday friends.

Portfolio Project: Fairburn Condo

Through all of the drizzle, earlier this week this is the condo lobby that we have been working so tirelessly on!

Eek! Right? The paint, tiles, fixtures, and furnishings were so dated. New and improved, but not quite finished…

What do you think of the new color scheme? The new light fixtures and area rug should really warm things up.

Next week, I’ll show you a few more shots with the furnishings. I hope you will enjoy the weekend. I couldn’t be more ready!

La Pluie

Life  seems to slow down when it rains…time rolls softly like raindrops down the window pane and I find time to admire the splatter while sipping tea.

These days, I yearn for galoshes to splash through the puddles

or these Hunter wellies

and places to store my umbrella (to be honest…I don’t even own an umbrella;)

but I do love a sweet trenchcoat to throw on.

I wanted to check in with you all and see what kinds of cool things you have been up to…please share links!
