Thanksgiving Friday Inspiration

I feel like there is so much to be grateful for in my life. My family, friends, art, teaching, the ocean, yoga, cinnamon macadamia nuts, veggies, nature’s beauty….the list could extend on and on. I’m sure many of you are feeling the same way.

Photo of Oahu courtesy of Ashish Vaid…yep I was there!

This picture is so full of whimsy it got me totally excited to head over to the Honolulu International Marketplace tomorrow and shop ’til I drop! That bunny looks just like an albino bunny that I kept in the summer’s between seventh and eighth grades growing up.

PinkPianos on Etsy is having a 10% off sale on accessories all day along with many others. I promise to be back in the blog world with a fresh look on Baroque furniture next week!

What are you thankful for this week?

Teen Bedroom: Lime and Pink

Both of the inspiration boards for Lauren’s Room are ready. I love working with these girls and the color soft pink.

The top board really shows off the punchy pink and lime together. I cant wait to find a gorgeous vintage modern settee like the one below in the pic.

This one mixes vintage modern accessories like a white chandelier and the Louis Ghost chair.

I can’t even begin to describe ewhere I found all of these great shots, but I’ll start with the Creature Comforts blog.

I can’t wait to see what my clients think! Which one do you prefer?

the punchy one or the softer side of things…

Cake Topper DIY

My friend Michelle, a painter and illustrator, shared with me this adorable handmade cake topper.

Michelle is engaged (so excited for her!), so I’m not sure if it’s for her wedding or a friend’s…

but either way it is freakin’ cute!

I love the green bow tie and the bride’s veil. Michelle was kind enough to share the steps for those of you inclined to give it a try.

For this project, you will need a polymer bake-able or Air-Dry clay.

1. Roll balls for heads and long cylinders for body. Make sure the body has a flat base so it can stand. Then, connect the head to the body.

2. Next, add hair by rolling long strips, laying out each one on head

3. Be creative. Add clothing. I added a bow tie for the groom and created simple clothing by rolling strips of color and laying it straight down across body. You can customize as you wish. If you have a certain color scheme for your wedding you can add that.

3. Add the veil, cut the edges with a a scalloped edge scissor and mold on head of bride.

If you are looking for more gorgeous wedding inspiration then you must visit Brooklyn Bride and Green Wedding Shoes. I went crazy over an a nature and travel inspired wedding over there earlier this week!

I hope you have an exciting weekend ahead! What are your plans?

I will be attending my friend, Edy’s art show this evening who you may remember from the giveaway. I will be clicking away.

Great Art, $20 Really.

I love this companies’ slogan so much that I have stolen it for the title of my post today. The story behind the company, 20 x 200 is equally amazing!

I’m excited to show you some of my favorite pieces.

This artist, Younga Park has really caught my eye with 2 of the photographs on the site. While I am browsing, I tend to end up clicking on her photos. As it turns out, she is a Brooklyn based blogger and photographer that loves to “capture narratives of everyday life.”

The coolest thing about this company has to be the pricing of prints starting at just….you guessed it, $20! I am soo going to look here for unique holiday gifts because I love giving art! Two years ago, I found some excellent photography on Etsy of lighthouses for my Uncle and Aunt. The thing about 20×200 is the pieces are already curated for you, so it saves time….which I can not seem to find enough of!

There are some seriously amazing paintings and drawings here too, like this piece by Jennifer Sanchez, lots of movement and neon colors in this piece, sort of like a modern Kandinsky painting.

I hope this week has left you feeling as energized as this painting! I am still recovering from doing too many things:) Tomorrow, I have little surprise Friday DIY for you. You are gonna love it!

Danish Gray: Malene Birger

In the interest of time…I’m going to keep this post short and sweet. I came across this room by Malene Birger last week when searching for great chandeliers. I loved what I saw. The chandelier does so much for the charm of this intimate space, which appears to have a lofty ceiling.

I discovered Malene Birger is a Danish Designer behind a couture fashion line. This is her stylish living room in Majorca, Spain that I spotted via Habitually Chic, an equally charming blog that you should head on over to see!

The lamps…the photo ledge…the gray and black…Is it European love? Oui, Oui!

Happy Monday, folks! I promise to be back and in the swing of things with new Art recommendations later this week!
